Leadership

Zachary L. Venegas, Partner
 Mr. Venegas co-founded Scimitar in 2003 and leads its overall efforts. Prior to co-founding Scimitar, he worked in the JP Morgan Private Bank in New York, Switzerland, and Bahrain. While at JP Morgan, he was a key member of the Middle East team, leading the Bahrain Private Banking office. Mr. Venegas is a West Point graduate with a degree in Classical Arabic and Portuguese languages, and has completed many of the U.S. Army’s most difficult courses, including Airborne, Air Assault, Nuclear/Biological/Chemical Warfare, and Army Ranger schools. He served with distinction in a variety of Infantry and special unit assignments before leaving military service as a Captain. Mr. Venegas holds an MBA in Finance and International Business from New York University’s Stern School of Business. In addition to Arabic, Portuguese, and Romanian, he speaks French and Spanish.


Scott Ogur, CFA, Partner
 Mr. Ogur joined Scimitar in 2003. His experience includes five years at the JP Morgan Private Bank, where he managed over $1 billion of public equities and fixed income for Private Equity partners and foundation clients as a Portfolio Manager. He has a strong foundation in financial analysis and reporting, including three years of experience at Chemical Bank Corp. and Price Waterhouse. Mr. Ogur graduated from Bucknell University with a BA in Accounting, and received an MBA in Finance from New York University’s Stern School of Business, where he was a Glucksman Fellowship recipient.
